It is time for the annual Scarecrow Stroll; this year’s theme is “Connecting Community.” The Halloween event, sponsored and organized by the Hinesville Downtown Development Authority, brings nearly 20,000 people to the heart of historic downtown for trick-or-treating, hayrides, entertainment, and more, making it one of the city’s biggest events of the year.
The festival, which was founded in 2009, runs from 6-9 p.m. on Friday, October 24th, and will feature a multitude of activities spread out throughout Bradwell Park: Commerce, Midway, and Main streets; M.L. King Jr. Drive and Central Avenue – all of which will be partially closed to traffic. Area businesses, civic groups, churches, and volunteers are needed to host candy stations, decorate, and sponsor or facilitate other activities. A detailed schedule map of the activities will be released in the last week of October.
This year, a group of community volunteers in mind those who experience sensory issues. Sensory Central is a safe zone open to everyone in the community.
